TOM WALSH - Wheelchair Sports NSW

Story

Hi there,

Im taking part in the Noosa Classic 2018 and hoping to raise much needed funds for Wheelchair Sports NSW and the Sutherland Wheelsharks Basketball Program. As many of my supporters in the past would be aware I have competed in the City 2 Surf  for the last 5 years. This year I have decided to hang up the running shoes and instead I will dust off the Lycra to compete in both the Noosa Classic(160km) and the Bowral Classic(170km). Contrary to what my family (and others) say I believe I look good in Lycra.

The Sutherland Wheeliesharks allows people with disabilities, their family and friends the opportunity to get involved in the sport of wheelchair basketball. All donations received go directly towards the running costs of the program. This allows us to keep the individual fees to our participants affordable.

Thank You for your support
Regards
Tom

Wheelchair Sports NSW

Wheelchair Sports NSW, formed in 1961, is a non-profit organisation responsible for the development, promotion and delivery of wheelchair sport in NSW.

Our vision – to enrich the lives of people with a disability through participation in sport.

Sport is a powerful rehabilitation tool for those who have suffered catastrophic injury, and a strong integrating force for those with a disability living in a predominately able bodied society. For many individuals, participation in wheelchair sport is an important pathway to social connection, forming lifelong friendships, increasing confidence, social skills and education, and increasing overall motivation, determination and courage.

WS NSW provide sporting programs, wheelchairs, facilities, financial assistance and professional support staff for people with physical disability (ranging from spinal cord injury, spina bifida, amputation, paraplegia, quadriplegia to other similar disabling conditions), from 8-80 years of age to enjoy the benefits of involvement in sport at all stages, beginner to elite.
